اصطلاحات انگلیسی با اعضای بدن انسان

I am head over heels for my girlfriend so I went down to the jeweler’s to pick up some engagement ring.

When I walked in, the store manager welcomed me with open arms. Well, because I was his flesh and blood. My uncle owned the store. He has an old hand in jewel design. We greeted and I explained that I was going to pop the question. My uncle got really shocked. He asked “ Are you pulling my leg?”

We were talking when the tea guy brought some sweet. He knows I have a sweet tooth.

My cousin, Joe, works there with his father. In fact, he is uncle’s right-hand man. He always gives me the cold shoulder. The better! He has always been a pain in the neck. I wonder why uncle gave him a job because he never lifts a finger. Maybe because he used to be all skin and bones not to mention that he is all thumbs. But Joe was always the apple of his eye.

There used to be no elbow room in his store, but it was oddly uncrowded on that day, so he showed me some of their finest rings. I admit that they were really eye catching. But everything cost an arm and a leg there. When I saw the price tags, I almost had a change of hearts.

I guess I had my head in the clouds when I thought I could afford one of those rings at my uncle’s jeweler’s.

My uncle asked “why the long face?”

I finally got it off my chest and admitted that I was having second thoughts about the whole marriage thing.

Uncle said, “hey, keep your chin up.

He offered to lend me a hand with the ring. He said it was his wedding gift to me. I wouldn’t accept it but he kept insisting.

Then an idea popped into my head.
I said “you scratch my back, I scratch yours.

I offered to teach his son English and we finally saw eye to eye.

When I sat on one knee and proposed to my girlfriend, I realized she had cold feet. I guess I put my foot in my mouth when I proposed to her in a crowded restaurant. I got back home and cried my eyes out. But don’t worry about me. I’m trying to find my feet these days.

I will have to face the music now and teach my cousin English. I hope he is not thick in the head.

امیدوارم که این پادکست مفید بوده باشه و اگر اصطلاح دیگری بلدید که با بدن انسان هست در قسمت نظرات اونها رو بنویسید.
